Near the entrance to Vancouver Island's Discovery Passage (49 degrees 52' N, 125 degrees 7' W), is our 200 berth marina. It can accommodate boats up to 40’, both sail and power (a few spaces for boats up to 46 ft. please call for more information). Secure year round moorage is offered with daily, weekly, monthly or yearly rates. In our store, we stock a wide variety of boating necessities, plus clothing, food and much more. Wireless Internet access is also available.

The Marina is accessed by sea through a channel alongside and south of the Oyster River, between scenic Campbell River and the beautiful Comox Valley on central Vancouver Island. With direct access to the breathtaking Desolation Sound, Discovery Passage, hundreds of miles of coast line, and many popular fishing spots, we are the perfect launching point to explore Vancouver Island's many marine attractions.

Vancouver Island has over 30 marine parks and protected areas. Many are easily accessible from our marina. Mitlenatch Island Park is the most well known local marine park in the area. Rebecca Spit, Smelt Bay and Read Island parks are also popular and easily accessible by water. All boast many interesting birds and a wide variety of sea life. 
  

Navigational Information

Pacific Playgrounds Marina is located adjacent to (and immediately south of) Oyster River estuary. Watch the channel markers; the depth is shallowest by the outermost post. You will need a tide of minimum 7 ft for a boat with a draft of 4.5 ft. Tide reference table is Mitlenatch Island. The channel is narrow and exposed to S.E. winds. It is not advisable to attempt passage during high swells or winds.

Driving Information

For visitors driving to Pacific Playgrounds, our marina is easily accessible from both of Vancouver Island's major highways. We are just off highway 19A, the scenic "Oceanside Highway". If you are driving highway 19, the "Inland Island Highway", take the Hamm Road exit (directions).
